Kicking off debate night, Terp-style

Highlights from this university’s School of Public Policy Dean Kettl’s introduction to students at the UMD debate party in the Stamp Student Union:

“There’s nothing like a good show and free pizza to get some conversation going.”

“It’s the second most important night” in the election season, he said – the most important being the election itself.

“It’s a great night because it’s a fascinating experiment in democracy, too. We’re taking idea of social gathering here today and merging it into social media.”

“This is a first-in-the-nation opportunity to register to vote just as you register for your classes.”
